• The Board of Education performs its functions under powers granted by the Legislature (title 18A).
  
  
• Five elected, unsalaried members make up the Board of Education and serve three-year terms.
  
  
• These individuals may take action as Board members only during a regular or special meeting of the Board. They welcome your ideas, questions and suggestions regarding the school system.
  
  
• Communications or requests, in writing should be submitted to the Board Secretary or the President, preferably at least a week prior to the regular meeting in order to have members informed.
  
  
• A person may address the Board in person when recognized by the presiding officer in the period scheduled for audience participation, during each regular, special or agenda meeting.
  

Regular Board meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM when formal action is taken. Special Board meetings, as necessary will be publicized for the purpose intended, and formal action may be taken. All of the aforementioned meetings are open to the public. Dates of all meetings are posted in the school building, Board Office and the Municipal Building according to the Open Public Meetings Act of 1975. The Board appreciates your interest in the school and encourages you to attend meetings.
